The $0 Ad Budget Starter Plan: What You Should Be Doing Before You Boost a Single Post

I love a good paid ad strategy. But if your organic content isn’t pulling its weight yet? Pump the brakes.
Here’s what I recommend every single client do before they touch the "Boost Post" button:
1. Clean up your bio + links. Your Instagram or Facebook bio should clearly say:
Who you help
What you offer
How to take the next step Bonus points for a link that leads to more than just your homepage (think: Linktree or ManyChat).
2. Get consistent with your content. Before you throw money behind a post, make sure:
You’ve posted at least once a week for 4–6 weeks
Your content speaks clearly to your target audience
Your tone and visuals are consistent
3. Create one clear CTA. Every post should invite action:
Save this tip
DM me with a question
Visit the link in bio Too many directions = no action taken.
4. Test what works—organically. If a post does well without ads, it’s probably worth boosting. But let it prove itself first.
5. Know the goal. Is the goal engagement? Website traffic? Follows? Leads? Don’t pay to boost unless you’re clear on what you want the outcome to be.
Bottom line: Organic content is the dress rehearsal. If it can’t perform on its own, it’s not ready for the stage (or the ad budget).
Need help getting your organic content in shape? That’s my zone. Let’s make it happen.
